About Development, Culture, and Leadership
How We Got Started
Development, Culture, and Leadership (DCL) is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 in North Lebanon, initially aiming at empowering the youth in Tripoli and Syr Dennieh through non-formal and informal education. Since its formation, DCL has designed and implemented several educational programs to address the regional challenges, always keeping at heart the principles of peace, collaboration, equality, and respect without discrimination.
Where We Are Now
Since 2018, DCL has expanded its portfolio of activities, reinforcing volunteering and adding humanitarian aid as well, mostly food distribution to individuals and families in distress. At the same time, the geographical range of the organization’s impact has broadened beyond its original focus, and today includes most of Lebanon.
Our vision is to act as a regional model for interaction between all society’s members from various beliefs under the principles of Peace, Love and Reconciliation.
Our Values
Our values are the guiding principles both for the organization as a whole and its members individually. We, therefore, own them, value them, and embody them in our internal operations and all our endeavors to ensure our activities make a positive impact at a local, regional, and global level.
